It’s been four years since Kerrianne Huntington’s husband was killed in a tragic car accident, and truth be known, she hasn’t been coping very well. Sure, she does well enough keeping her three children in line, but she’s still in mourning and just can’t seem to get on with her life (and let’s not even mention her bedraggled appearance…) One day, she opens her eyes and sees her faithful mailman in a whole new light, and that’s when Kerrianne starts to think that she can love again.
Rachel Anne Nunes is famous for her novels following specific families (think “Ariana”). This newest release, “By Morning Light” follows her three previous novels about other members of the Huntington family. Don’t get me wrong – I love LDS fiction, but Nunes has a way of bringing out every cliché about being LDS and being in love that she can find. Her novels definitely won’t make you any smarter, but they have great entertainment value.
Like the teaser said, this novel is about widow Kerrianne Huntington and her new-found romance with mailman/widower Ryan Oakman. It deals with all of the aspects of widow/widower romance that you would expect: how do we meld our lives together, especially with our children, and how do we love again despite the memories we have of our deceased spouses?
If you’re looking for some mushy-gushy, guilty pleasure LDS fiction, “By Morning Light” is for you.
